For the February 2 Gallery Walk they are hositng Gallery Walk Mardi
Gras which is a first year event and hosted by over a dozen shops
and galleries. It will offer Blues and Jazz at several locations up
and down Canal Street as well as at Clay Gallery on Douglas Street
a couple of blocks away.
Canal Street will be filled with music and fun for everyone. At the
Pennysaver parking lot the CSHD will host a Beer and Wine Garden.
Tres Bien Trio will play 5-8 pm. At the east end of Canal Street
the NSB High School Jazz Ensemble will perform from 4-6 pm and from
6-9 pm will be more entertainment tba. Gianna Decigia will be the
featured artist at Mosquito Mud Pottery. She will have her portable
torch running, making beads as you watch! Like moths to the flame!
Clay Gallery will have Ray Guiser on sax from 4-8 pm On the other
end of Canal Street at Shops at 421 and the Antique Mall there will
be Richard Young on Sax from 5-8 pm as well as artitst/painter Bill
Withers. Most shops will offer Mardi Gras favors, masks, beads,
etc. to make the night more festive!
FOOD! Maloney's is offering a taste of New Orleans at
the "garden" as well as in the restaurant with gumbo;
Romesco's will feature Abita beer and Mufallatti's; Deli
Touch will offer Jumbalaya. As well the participating shopws will
have light fare and refreshments for the evening.
At the conclusion of Gallery Walk on Canal Street, the Marine
Discovery Center will run a special water taxi from Riverside Drive
at the dock at the east end of the Brannon Center to the Inlet
Harbor Restaurant for their Mardi Gras festivities. For a fare of
$12 per person, the taxi leaves at 8:15 pm and returns back to New
Smyrna around 11:40 pm.
Art Walk is held every first Saturday of each month from 4 - 8
pm.
