Romantic Beach Weddings in New Smyrna Beach! Kick off your shoes, don a white gown or marry hanging ten on a surfboard. The choices are diverse and limited only by your imagination. The natural beauty of the sand and surf act as a backdrop to your special day and promise a lifetime of fond memories.
New Smyrna Beach is "wedding friendly". For weddings on the beach, no special permits or licensing are required for parties of 50 or less.If a beach wedding is not in your plans, call to hear about other memorable locations both indoors and out. Those seeking more traditional nuptials can wed in a variety of churches or chapels representing every faith and denomination. In Florida, both religious leaders and Notaries can officiate at weddings. Ask about a complementary Notary to officiate at your wedding.
A Beautiful Setting for a Beautiful Day! Capture the magic of your special day in New Smyrna Beach. Whether you plan an intimate wedding with a few close friends or nuptials with fewer than 50 guests, the area has much to offer.
Details, Details, Details! The Visitors Center can assist you in finding accommodations for your guests as well as locate florists, photographers or videographers. We can also assist with locations for your reception and provide a list of caterers. Reception areas can accommodate from 10 - 250 guests.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue ... We have you covered! Select an old-fashioned cameo at an antique store on Canal Street. Buy a handmade necklace on Flagler Avenue. The Visitors Center will be happy to "lend" you a penny for your shoe. As for something blue ... well, if you wed on the beach, the ocean takes care of that.
Getting a license: Marriage licenses in Florida are regulated by the State and issued by the County Clerk's office. There are a number of offices in Volusia County and a call to the Visitors Center can provide the one nearest you. Most offices are open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and no appointment is necessary.
Marriage License Fees: * License application, license preparation, administering oath, issuing, affixing seal, recording and certifying - $93.50 or $61.00 with approved marriage preparation course. For Florida residents, there is an additional three day wait for couples who do not wish to complete the course. * If you get married (solemnizing matrimony) at the Court House an additional $30.00 fee is applied.
Payment by cash, personal check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit cards. Applicants will need a valid drivers license or picture ID. Non US citizens may use a passport for identification. Both the bride and groom must be present at the time of application. If your spouse-to-be has been previously wed, they must provide the date the marriage ended.
The license is valid for 60 days and the marriage may take place anywhere in the State of Florida. The marriage license form must be returned to the Clerk's Office for recording within ten days after the marraige is performed. A copy will be provided.
After the Wedding Of course the honeymoon is one of the most important aspects of wedding planning and New Smyrna Beach offers everything from quaint Bed & Breakfast Inns to luxurious oceanfront condos.
Spend a day frolicking at the beach. Shop on historic Flagler Avenue or Canal Street. Browse through one of our many art galleries. Indulge in a couple's only spa treatment. Enjoy intimate dining at one of our many family-owned restaurants or share an ice cream soda at an old fashioned soda fountain.
Take an historic boat ride down the Indian River and discover why it is the most biologically diverse estuary in North America. Ride the water taxi across the inlet to get an up close and personal view of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, then climb the stairs to the top for spectacular views of New Smyrna Beach.
The area's proximity to Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, the Kennedy Space Center and Daytona USA allows newlyweds to explore other vacation options.
