Smyrna Dunes Park

This 184 acre inlet park is an excellent outdoor attraction for those want to do a scenic coastal hike. Smyrna Dunes Park is also dog-friendly although there are certain restrictions pet owners will need to be aware of before entering the park. There are multiple scenic outlooks where you can appreciate the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River.
Can you drive on Smyrna Dunes Park?
Yes, you can drive on certain areas of the park and the beach within it. For admission fee, it’s $10 per vehicle or free if the vehicle is for handicapped and disabled veterans. Make sure you check the tide levels before visiting as a few of the ramps may close at high tide.
How long is Smyrna Dunes Boardwalk?
The park has a 1.6 mile boardwalk around the perimeter of the dunes. The whole hiking loop, however, is a bit longer at about 2.4 miles.
Are dogs allowed at Smyrna Dunes Park?
Yes, dogs are allowed at the park but with certain restrictions. The dogs must be leashed at all times when they are on the inlet shore beach area. Dogs are also allowed on the elevated boardwalks but only until 10 AM.
